American Southern Yellow Pine (SYP) 3

American Southern Yellow Pine (SYP)

Southern Yellow Pine is imported from the United States of America, and is considered as one of the strongest, most versatile species of wood, used by both building professionals, as well as DIY’s.

Southern Yellow Pine is typically similar to most other hard pines. It has the highest density—between 36 to 42 lbs/ft3 average dried weight—with the minor species ranging from 32 to 36 lbs/ft3 on average. With reddish brown heartwood and yellowish white sapwood, this wood tends to have a fine to medium grain texture.

It contains large and plentiful resin canals, evenly distributed and mostly solitary. The earlywood to latewood transitions are abrupt in this pine, and the colour contrasts high. It also has a medium-large diameter. These various species of Southern Yellow Pine are all too similar to be distinguishable, even under a microscope.

New Zealand Radiata Pine

New Zealand Radiata Pine

Radiata Pine has heartwood that varies from light-brown to yellow, and is often not very different from the sapwood, which is white to pale-yellow.

Imported from New Zealand, Radiata Pine is a very versatile timber, suitable for various structural and decorative applications. New Zealand-grown Pinus radiata is a “super softwood” of the 21st century – one of the most attractive and versatile industrial wood species available in global markets. It performs consistently well across a wider range of commercial applications when compared with almost any other species.

Radiata Pine has heartwood that varies from light-brown to yellow, and is often not very different from the sapwood, which is white to pale-yellow. It has a fine texture, though uneven, and contains knots often. The timber is fairly soft and less dense. The annual growth rings in this timber are relatively wide.

The grain usually falls in a straight pattern, though it might twist in the central core of 100mm, with a change in the moisture content of the timber.

Spruce Pine Fir (SPF)

Spruce Pine Fir (SPF)

Spruce Pine Fir (SPF) is the name given to a combination of spruces, pines and firs that share similar characteristics and are found throughout the forests of Canada.

Spruce Pine Fir’s high fiber strength, lightweight and easy workability make it an excellent choice for house construction, trusses and home projects. Its clean, white appearance and small knots create an attractive look for interior projects.

SPF is soft, straight, even-grained, medium to fine-textured, and produces a lustrous finish. The heartwood is a pale yellowish white, and there is little difference between the heartwood and sapwood.

Wooden Pallets we serve

We use variety of fine picked wood use for pallets

Block/Deck Board Pallets

Block pallets can be lifted from all four directions. The upper deck is supported by twelve columns. There may or may not be a bottom deck. Block pallets provide high handling efficiency and could be made of wood, plastic, or metal.

Stringer Pallets

Stringer pallets offer extra support over block pallets. Two boards running between the top and bottom deck on two opposite ends of the pallet provides additional reinforcement. But this means stringer pallets can be lifted only from two sides that are open. Four-way stringer pallets are also available where the stringer has a notch cut allowing forklifts to pick up the pallet.

Double Face Pallets

Most pallets generally have only a top deck. Double-face pallets have a top and bottom deck and either side can be used. They are strong and can be used for heavy-duty tasks.

Double Wing Pallets

In Double-Wing pallets, the top and the bottom deck extend beyond the stringers to offer additional surface area; making these pallets useful to transport a large number of goods all at once.

Solid Deck Pallets

A solid deck pallet has a single continuous sheet usually made of wood, metal or plastic with no spacing in between. These are easy to clean and transport and are useful in moving smaller items.
